Linda Leong

Being one of the first 10 graduates from James Cook University in 1991, Linda quickly established herself in the legal industry and was the first JCU Law Student to become a Principal of a private law firm just 2 years after graduating. This set up the first of a long line of achievements and recognition for Linda.

Linda Leong has extensive experience of more than 28 years in the legal industry. She brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to her practice. She, backed by her team, focuses on delivering realistic and practical advice with any legal issue – from conveyancing to court litigation and complex estate administration, Wills to emotional family matters.

She practises primarily in the field of Personal Injury Law, Wills and Estates.

Linda focuses on the needs of each client and understands that every client’s issues are unique. She provides personalised service and advice to her clients in order to ensure that clients’ needs are met. Linda empowers her clients by providing them with knowledge and guidance relevant to their matters.

Linda has successfully managed and developed the firm and comes from a long background of business owners. She understands the commercial and financial implications of decisions made during litigation and works with her clients to minimise any financial implications of the litigation.

She is community-minded and assists a number of community and sporting associations.

Samuel Bogotto

Sam is a Partner of McDonald Leong Lawyers and leads the Personal Injury Litigation, Commercial Dispute Litigation and Criminal Law divisions of the firm.

As a born and bred Townsville local, Sam has an innate knowledge of the issues affecting the local community and regional areas. He applies this knowledge to assist clients with tailored legal representation required for their individual needs.

Sam is a formidable advocate who regularly appears before the Magistrate, District and Supreme Courts on behalf of clients. He provides his clients with comprehensive, timely advice and rigorous advocacy. Sam is dedicated to assisting his clients and he does so with compassion and empathy.

In his Personal Injury practice, Sam has extensive experience in dealing with clients who have sustained serious injuries in complex claims from Motor Vehicle Accidents, Workplace Incidents and injuries in public places. Sam has a great track record having been involved in successful Personal Injury trials and applications before the District and Supreme Courts and appeals before the Queensland Court of Appeal.

He is also the Chair of the Disciplinary Judiciary for Townsville & Districts Rugby Union.

In his downtime, Sam is an avid outdoorsman who spends his weekends playing golf, wishing the weather was good enough to go fishing and spending time with his two dogs.

Shane Boyle

Practice Areas

Shane is a Solicitor with the firm and has extensive experience in all areas of Property Law, Commercial and Business Law. He has been practising for more than 25 years as a solicitor after completing his Bachelor of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology.

Shane has developed contacts with various brokers, agents, financiers, investors and developers that are a benefit to all parties involved in transactions. He has been practising in Townsville for the past 27 years after relocating from Brisbane.

Marie-Louise Coco

Practice Areas

Marie graduated from James Cook University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business Management. Marie completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Queensland University of Technology and was admitted as a Lawyer in May 2020.

Marie predominately practises in Wills & Estates and enjoys assisting with all aspects of Property Law. As a local, Marie has a great understanding of the wants and needs of the Townsville Community and enjoys assisting her clients with implementing effective estate planning. Marie prides herself on her ability to maintain her strong contacts with brokers, investors, financial planners, and agents and from her numerous years of practice.

Marie’s diverse experience and knowledge enables her to provide thorough and practical advice in a timely manner which ensures her clients are confident with the outcome of their matter.
